The Food Blogger Exchange

Welcome to The Food Blogger Exchange!

Are you a new food blogger, or one that is trying to improve their reach, SEO or rankings? I’ve been blogging for many years now, but due to my busy life, I took my eye off the ball for a while and stopped putting any real effort into The Spelt Kitchen. This naturally had an impact on how many people my blog was reaching. However, over the summer, I’ve come back with a vengeance, and I want to try to get my domain and page authorities back to where they used to be, as well as increase the number of backlinks.

To do this, I started to think about guest posting (both for other blogs and for here) or my favourite, which is to recreate someone else’s recipe and post it on my blog. These both provide a healthy, organic way to increase backlinks. After scouring the internet, I couldn’t find anywhere that offers a food blogger exchange, or a way to put bloggers in touch with each other. Yes, you can cold call, but that’s not something I enjoy. Plus, you could send 50 emails and only have one response, so it’s hardly productive. Of course you can pay people to provide you with backlinks, but that is not only potentially bad for SEO, it also feels very icky to me.

So I thought, why don’t I create my own Facebook page for bloggers who feel the same way as me? Genuine food bloggers looking for authentic and high quality collaborations. This makes it easy to connect with like-minded bloggers who want the same things as you.

What this isn’t is a share for share, like for like kind of set up. That just doesn’t work long term. It is also not a way to ask for (or offer) paid services. Every potential new member will be vetted, and every post has to be approved by me. That way, we can keep things to a professional, high standard.

So, what do you say? Are you interested in participating? If so, take a look at The Food Blogger Exchange page.
